If you make a rating of thirst quenchers, then mineral water and fruit drink will be the leaders in it. Cranberry, lingonberry, blackberry, raspberry, blueberry is better than soda, tonic, nectars and even juices.
Fruit drinks are often compared with nectars - they say that both of them are more than half composed of water. But actually these are two completely different drinks. They differ in composition (fruit drinks are mainly made from berries, while fruits are most often used as raw materials for nectars) and in the method of preparation. The classic recipe for fruit drink looks like this: the berries are washed and ground or ground in a blender. Then pour boiled water and boil for several minutes. Do not boil for a long time, so as not to destroy all the vitamins. After which the drink is filtered and sweetened. The cake remaining after filtering is squeezed again, the liquid is mixed with the cooled drink, and it is no longer boiled. And recently, scientists have discovered in berries and other anticholesterol substances - phytosterols. Of course, in fresh berries they are contained in a microscopic amount and also mainly in seeds. But in order to keep cholesterol in check, only about 1 g of phytosterol per day is needed: 50-year-old (!) Studies have shown that it actually reduces cholesterol by 10-15%, which is comparable to the effect of modern drugs .
•… and of course, vitamins A, C, E, groups B, K, PP and others. As many vitamins as there are in a berry basket are not found anywhere else. And a considerable part of them fall into fruit drink, a really very useful drink.
Mistress note
- For the preparation of fruit drinks use only boiled water or still mineral water.
- Boil and store it in dishes that are not oxidized (glass, clay, ceramic).
- Before squeezing the juice, make sure that there are no residues of contaminants on the details of the juicer - this can greatly affect the taste of the drink and its shelf life.
- Add honey instead of sugar.
- If you use sugar, first dissolve it in hot water, then cool the syrup and only then add it to the drink.
- Serve fruit juice on a table in a jug chilled with ice cubes, a slice of lemon or orange - so it will be tastier.
- Keep the drink in the refrigerator for no more than a day.
