Fashionable sewing from shreds seems difficult to many. However, with the help of precise patterns, a detailed diagram, as well as accurate cutting and sewing, it will only take some time. But who will regret the time for your favorite hobby, especially when the result is beyond praise! And for a country-style interior, such a blanket is a real hit!
Size of the bedspread in the finished form: approximately 100 x 100 cm.

YOU WILL NEED:
Red striped cotton fabrics; white cotton fabric; suitable fabric for the bottom of the blanket; gasket 275 (Freudenberg Vliesstoffe); piece of cardboard; thick paper; scissors; ruler; cotton sewing threads; sewing needles.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
General recommendations: the blanket is made in the technique Paper piercingwhen individual parts are sewn together into a single unit manually. According to the drawing, make a diamond-shaped template from thick cardboard.
Cut out all the details with allowances for 0.75 cm seams as follows: cut out 244 diamonds from the red fabric into the strip (cut diamonds every time so that 6 parts have the same direction of stripes).
For the border, make 135 rhombuses according to the size of the picture and cut them out of white cotton fabric.
Cut 379 diamonds from paper. Paste a paper rhombus on the wrong side of each fabric rhombus. For each fabric rhombus, unscrew the seam allowances on the wrong side around the edges of the paper rhombuses, without bending their edges. Take allowances into account.
Set aside 16 red rhombs along with rim fabric parts. Of the remaining red rhombs to fulfill the stars. To do this, sew for each star 6 identical red rhombuses. First, fold two rhombuses face to face and sew overcasting stitches one side from one corner to the other, without grabbing paper.
Stitched rhombuses to lay out. Put the next rhombus and sew it in the same way to the already sewn ones. Work in this rhythm, connecting the remaining rhombuses into a star (see. Figure). Then stitch the stars with white rhombs in one piece (= top side of the blanket) (see drawing).
In the same way, according to the drawing, make a border and sew it to the upper side of the blanket. Then remove the paper diamonds from the wrong side of the upper side of the blanket.Assembly
From the gasket and fabric for the underside of the blanket, cut out parts equal to the size of the top side of the blanket. Fold all three layers together and sweep away.
Then quilting the blanket, laying stitches from the middle of the blanket to the outer cuts, finish the stitch at a distance of about 3 cm from the seams. On white diamonds, sew only along the longitudinal axis.
Quilting the border primarily at a distance of 5 cm from the edges. Only then, on all four sides, the gasket and the bottom side of the blanket, respectively, twist 1 cm twice, then unscrew the upper side over the tucked edges of the gasket and the bottom side and sew manually with small stitches.
Only after that quilting motifs of the border.
