It's a shame to catch a cold or flu on New Year's holidays. To prevent this from happening, start building a defense against viruses right now.
Often we ourselves are to blame for the fact that the long-awaited vacation is clouded by the disease. In the wake of positive emotions, the elementary rules of prevention are forgotten, which means that there is an increased risk of spending holidays in bed, squishing your nose and canceling meetings with friends. How to be
HEAD - IN COLD?
Many of us even in severe frosts prefer to do without a hat, because it spoils the hair. But flaunting without a hat in a gusty wind and snow is at least frivolous: you can easily earn a headache or catch a cold, and even with complications in the form of sinusitis or otitis media. On the other hand, a too warm fur hat contributes to overheating of the head, enhances perspiration and increases the moisture of the hair, which also opens the way for respiratory infections.
Tip: choose the right hat: for winter, a dense, windproof hat that is easy to remove in transport or indoors is best suited. In extreme cases, put on a hood or fur headphones.
NECK - WARM!
If the head can be kept in relative cold, then the neck should always be warm. Therefore, a scarf is an integral part of winter equipment.Do not neglect it! After all, large vessels, nerves, lymph nodes pass in the neck, and at the same time it has practically no natural fat and muscle protection. A small draft, hypothermia can lead to inflammation of the “glands”, cervical neuralgia or activate the herpes virus.
Tip: keep in mind: thin scarves made of natural silk retain heat no worse than thick woolen ones. But when you come into the heat from the street - a store, a subway, a bus - take off or untie your scarf, unfasten the top of your clothes. Otherwise, sweat, and going out into the cold, you can catch a cold.
READY FOR THE FROST
Prolonged hypothermia is a common cause of SARS. Of course, you need to dress warmer, but sometimes even a fur coat can not save from low temperatures. If you are very cold, use thermal underwear. It fits snugly to the body, moreover, it is sewn from special knitwear, which helps to save heat. When dressing, observe the principle of layering: first thermal underwear, then a blouse or shirt, vest, jacket, etc. Do not forget about arms and legs - they react most quickly to the cold. To meet the weather fully equipped, be sure to wear mittens or gloves, and put insoles that do not absorb moisture into your shoes: wet feet quickly freeze.
Tip: in frosty windy weather, apply a special protective cream on the face, and if you exercise in the fresh air, use also protective glasses.
FAR FROM INFECTIONS
As the risk of catching a respiratory infection increases, in the cold season refrain from shaking hands and kisses on the cheek. Avoid stuffy, poorly ventilated areas. The best holiday events are in open areas! Wash your hands more often: pathogens get on the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, not only when someone sneezed or cleared their throat near you, but even if you opened the door with your hand that the sick person was already opening in front of you, and then decided to eat a bun or put your palm to face to correct bangs. If there is no way to wash your hands with soap, use an antiseptic - gel or napkin.
Tip: To prevent infections, treat your nose with oxolinic ointment before leaving home. In the morning, take 100 mg of ascorbic acid, drink ginger tea or brew rose hips, which are also rich in vitamin C - this will strengthen the immune system.
WINTER DIET
It is much easier for our body to resist colds when it receives enough energy with food. In winter, the need for calories is greater, since a significant part of it is spent on thermoregulation.
Tip:Want to feel comfortable? For a while, give up low-calorie diets. Include in the menu meat or fish soups, crumbly cereals with butter, fries. Now all this is appropriate for maintaining vigor and physical activity. Such food is digested for a long time, gives a lot of thermal calories, so it helps to resist the cold.
FIRST AID
Frozen, do you feel that you have started to stick up? Take action immediately! The most important thing is to warm your feet as soon as possible. To do this, make a foot bath with mustard or sea salt (only if you do not have a fever). The procedure is based on the reflex expansion of the vessels of the legs under the influence of temperature stimuli. Then drink tea with linden, raspberries, chamomile or honey - and immediately to bed.
