Twice a year - in spring and autumn, BURDA holds a competition for the best model, tailored to the patterns of the magazine. Thousands of photos with their works are sent by amateur seamstresses from all over Russia.
Every year, the number of participants and works sent to the contest is growing rapidly.
With the start of a new competition, we did a short review of previous competitions to once again recall our winners.
year 2013
The winner of the competition for the best model Spring / Summer has become MARIA PROKUDINA from the city of Chernogolovka, Moscow Region. She won Brother's computerized Innov-is 20 Limited Edition sewing machine, a three-day trip to Moscow, and a photo shoot in BURDA magazine. Maria is a physicist by education. For the first time, she sat down at a sewing machine to sew trousers for her husband.
"At Burda, everyone can find something suitable for themselves - both beginners and professionals," - Masha considers.
year 2012
Winner of the anniversary contest "VURDA. 25 years in Russia" has become NATALIA NEBER from the city of Volgodonsk. She won the BROTHER Innovs-is 10 computerized sewing machine.Almost all of Natalia’s wardrobe consists of BURDA models, and the pearl of this collection is a luxurious dress for special occasions.
The winner of the competition for the best model season Autumn / Winter has become NATALIA SIMKINA from Ivanov. She won a Micron classic 1035 sewing machine, a three-day trip to Moscow and a photo shoot in BURDA magazine. Born in the famous textile city, Natalia could not get carried away with sewing and knitting. She was convinced from her own experience that the ability to dress is the path to success.

The winner of the competition for the best model Spring / Summer has become Olga Kondrashova from the city of Krasnoyarsk. She won the BROTHER 4234D overlock, a three-day trip to Moscow and a photo shoot in the BURDA magazine. Olga has been sewing since she was 15 years old. She sent several ready-made ensembles from the "Italian" BURDA 2/2011 collection to the contest at once. All things were perfectly combined with each other and spoke about Olga's excellent taste.
"I like to create beautiful things with my own hands: to sew, to make toys and accessories"- shared Olga.
The winner of the competition for the best model season Autumn / Winter has become ANASTASIA KURACH from Chita. She won the TOYOTA JETB 224 sewing machine from the WELLES group of companies, a three-day trip to Moscow and a photo shoot in the BURDA magazine. It all started with an old grandmother's Singer sewing machine, which Nastya found on the mezzanine. From the very beginning, she chose only simple models. Nastya is a teacher by education. Sews recently, but already creates real masterpieces.
2010 year
The winner of the competition for the best model Spring / Summer has become ELENA GREEN from the city of Irkutsk. She won the FAMILY PLATINUM LINE 4500 computerized sewing machine, a three-day trip to Moscow, and a photo shoot in the BURDA magazine. Elena is an artist of the chamber ensemble and a teacher of piano and vocals. I started to sew at the age of 13. Her mother, a professional translator from German, helped translate patterns and instructions from BURDA.
"For the sake of participating in the competition, I postponed work on the dissertation for a while," - shared Elena.
The winner of the competition for the best model season Autumn / Winter has become MARINA URGAPOVA from Moscow. She won the BERNINA 800 DL overlock, a three-day trip to Moscow and a photo shoot in the BURDA magazine. Marina started sewing at school. But seriously carried away by this occupation already enrolled in college. She is an engineer by profession. He works as a manager in a company that sells furniture fabrics.
"I did not immediately believe that I had won. And my mother, when I found out, even burst into tears of joy!" - said Marina.
year 2009
The winner of the competition for the best model season Autumn / Winter has become Oksana Bekrenev from the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Region. She won Brother's Innov-is 30 computerized sewing machine, a three-day trip to Moscow, and a photo shoot in BURDA magazine. Oksana is an English teacher in high school. She started sewing while still a high school student. She devotes all her free time to her hobby.
"According to BURDA magazine, I have sewn almost the entire wardrobe, including outerwear and suits!" - shared Oksana.
