The highlight of these small coasters is the stitch that resonates with the geometric pattern of the fabric.

These cute hot coasters are good because they can be fantasized and improvised as you make them. Review your stocks of scraps and tissue residues: you will surely find among them those that are suitable for this project. In addition, in the process, you can practice new techniques (for example, stitches) or improve existing ones.

How to sew and decorate a heating pad on a kettle: master class + ideas

Step 1

Cut squares of 12x12 cm from different types of fabric. For each stand, you need 2 square parts of fabric and 1 of the gasket, also 12x12 cm.

If you want to sew the top of a stand from 2 different fabrics, cut out, for example, instead of one of the 12x12 parts, two 6x6.5 (0.5 cm for stock).

And you can make both parts prefabricated, for example, from 3 pieces, and so on.

Step 2

If the top or both parts of the stand are prefabricated, first sew the parts in squares. If the parts are solid, skip this step.

Step 3

Fold the squares in the order shown in the diagram: the top square of the fabric face up, then the bottom square of the fabric with the wrong side up, then the square of the pad. Chip all layers with pins or clip together. Lay the stitch around the perimeter, stitching all layers on 4 sides, leaving a hole for inversion 5-6 cm. Cut corners. Turn out a support and iron. Sew the hole manually.

Step 3

The last step is the stitch. Quilting your squares according to one of the proposed patterns or come up with your own pattern. Done!
