Metal hooks for clothes are used as fasteners on corset models, dresses and blouses with a cutout or drop or with a small cut on the back, as well as in back-to-back jackets.

Hooks for clothes come in different sizes, the hardest to sew small ones. We will show how to make this task as easy as possible and manually sew hooks and loops simply, securely and beautifully.

Step 1

Make markings with a tailor's chalk or aquamarker - mark the place where you need to sew the hook and eyelet.

Step 2

Insert a double thread into the eye of the needle and fasten it into a fabric without a knot.

Step 3

Place the hook over the stitch. Holding the base of the hook with your thumb, sew it to the product, making 3-4 tight stitches.

Step 4

Bring the thread under the base of the hook to the wrong side of the fabric and pull the thread through the center of one of the two holes in the shape of small ringlets at the base of the hook.

Step 5

Sew the base of the hook to the product with a buttonhole stitch. In this case, loop stitches should be placed tightly to each other. In order to sew small hooks, from 3 to 5 stitches for each little ring are enough.

Step 6

Place the counterpart of the hook — the eyelet — on the opposite side of the clasp over the marking and sew it with a buttonhole stitch only on the rings in the same way as the base of the hook.

► Insert a double thread into the eye of the needle and fasten it into the fabric without a knot in the place where the loop for the hook should be located.

► Form the stitch - sew a few stitches across the width of the loop.

► Sew the resulting backing with a buttonhole stitch.

► At the end, fasten the thread.
