Perhaps these mini-capes are not very practical, but how wonderful they look! Pelerines are sewn in an instant.
A bright wrap with velvet ribbon creates a fabulous look.
Length approx. 35 cm
How to sew a wide velvet ribbon
You will need:
2 velvet ribbons measuring 6 cm x 3 m (allowances for seams 1 cm wide have already been taken into account), a wooden cooking spoon, scissors, tailor pins.
STEP 1
Fold the stripes with their faces and grind the perimeter sections at a distance of 1 cm, leaving a section for turning out in one of the short seams. Cut the seam allowances at the corners diagonally.
STEP 2
To twist the tape, thread both corners inward through the open portion of the seam at one end of the tape.
STEP 3
Next, turn out the tape using a cook spoon with a long handle. Using the spoon handle, also straighten the corners of the tape. At the end, sew the open area of the seam manually.
INSTRUCTION
You will need:
Atlas of natural red silk 0.75 m wide 130 cm; velvet tape 6.00 m wide 6 cm; threads for sewing.
Description of work:
Iron short-cut allowances on the wrong side to a width of 3 cm. Fold the pelerine in half across the front and inward and grind the longitudinal sections at a distance of 1.5 cm. Flatten the seam allowances. Unscrew the pelerine and iron it so that the seam runs exactly along the lower edge of the pelerine. Iron the upper fold and stitch at a distance of 5 cm for the drawstring.Chip each front edge below the seam of the drawstring and grind to the edge.
Cut the velvet ribbon in half. Sew and undo the velvet ribbon for the drawstring - see the instructions in the illustrated part of the magazine. Iron the velvet ribbon and pull it into the drawstring.
Tip: on the seamy side of the drape along the midline of the drawstring, grab the velvet ribbon (in the middle) with a few stitches so that the stitches are not visible from the front of the drape.
